Chapter Four: Who’s is I? Private Eye!

“Hello?”  Sally spoke into the phone.  No answer.  “Hello?”
JoJo ran into the kitchen and waited for his mother to notice him.  Sighing, she put down the phone.
“What?”
“None of the phones in the house are working!”  She told him.   “I’ve tried them all!”
“How could all the phones in the house not be working? JoJo was flabbergasted.  “What about your Whophone?”
Sally hadn’t thought of that and she quickly took out her portable phone, quickly dialing her husband’s number.  For a few seconds, two Whos held their breath and waited for a reply.  Then, Sally gasped and dropped the phone.  JoJo glanced at her before he grabbed the phone and listened.
“You loose, I win! You loose, I win!” The voice was mocking them.
Someone had planned this.
“Oh, none of this makes any sense!” Sally sat down.  “At this rate, we’ll never find your father!  It would take a miracle.”
A miracle?
No way, JoJo told himself.  What you’re thinking is dangerous.  Your father is missing, we don’t want to make things worse.
Yes, but she can help you.  She owes you.  Remember her motto?  I always repay my debts in full.  You need me, you just call me as always.  All you have to do now is call her.  Then, she’ll be here.
But what about mom?
Worry about that later.  Just call her before its too late.
JoJo sighed, rubbing his temples.  This was his only option as of now.  He was going to have to do something.  Hopefully, he wouldn’t regret this.
“Mom, I have an idea.”
Sally looked at him.
“You do?”
“Yes but its rather complicated,” He went over to her.  “Go into the living room with the Grinch.  I have to make an important call.  I promise, I’ll explain everything.”
“But---“ Sally began.
“Mom, you have to trust me.” JoJo told her.
Sally wanted to argue.  Something about JoJo’s tone worried her.  What was he planning?  Whatever it was, she wanted to know but she knew her son wouldn’t be telling her anything.
Well, not yet at least.
“Alright, I do trust you JoJo.” She told him.
JoJo smiled and gave his mother a hug before he headed up to his room.

Ned was starting to get very annoyed; he was tired of being knocked out.  This was not good for his brain. This was going to cost him months of therapy as well.
“Ugh, where am I now?” Ned asked randomly.
“Morning sunshine!” An overly cheery voice declared.
Aw clover puffs.
“Morning.” Ned mumbled to Guess.
“Did you sleep well?” She asked as she sat down.
“Oh yeah I had a great night sleep after you knocked me out for the second time!”
“I had to Neddykins!” Guess told him.  “You were trying to escape!  Why would you want to leave me?”
“Because you’re psycho?” Ned suggested.
“Hey, just because nine out of ten doctors said I was crazy doesn’t make it so!”
“Huh?”
“Ned, do you have any idea how perfect you are?” Guess changed the subject.
“Um, no.” Ned blushed slightly.
“That’s right and either does that wife of yours!” Guess stood up, walking around the table.  “Ned, I can give you everything you need, everything you deserve.  All you have to do is stay with me!”
“Look, Miss Guess,” Ned tried to get out of the ropes that were binding him.  “You are seem like a rather nice lady but I can’t stay with you because---“
“Because of your wife?” Guess sneered.
“Well, yeah,” Ned had stopped struggling.  “I can’t just abandoned her!  We’ve been married for years and we’ve had so many kids I---“
“I could give you kids Ned,” Guess caressed his face, making him shiver.  “I could give you as many as you wanted.”
She was getting way to close for his comfort.  She was now straddling him, her arms looped around his neck.  Sadly, he couldn’t run due to the fact that he was strapped to the chair.
“That’s a rather—“ Ned gulped.  “Interesting offer.”
“Well, you should consider it,” Guess turned around and leaned against him.  “I think we would make an adorable couple!”
“I think I need to find a way out of here.” Ned told himself.

JoJo fumbled around in his room.  Where was it?  He knew it was here.  The girls never went into his room.  At least, not without him knowing.  Being the only boy in the house, he had his own room and deserved more privacy than the others.  But since girls were naturally nosey, he always set up traps within in his room.  And we all know that these traps were amazing since JoJo created them.
He sighed before he began to ponder.  Where had he last seen it?  He remembered from their last visit, she gave him the item before he placed it—under his mattress!
JoJo bounced onto his bed.  There, hiding between the crevices was a smooth, black Ocarina.  Running to his window, he threw it opened.  He placed the instrument to his lips and began to play.  How did that song go again? Oh, right; one long note, two short notes and then the bridge of her theme.
“Long time no see, huh JoJo?”
“What took you so long?” He smiled.
From the shadows of his room entered a tall, sleek figure dressed in black.  She wore a belt around her waist, an Ocarina tied to it.  She took off her mask which had covered most of her face.  Now, he could see her clearly with her long, straight hair of lime green reaching her ankles.  She smiled at him, her bright eyes of green sparkling.
“How are you doing?” She asked.
“I could be better Beryl,” He told her.  “I need your help.”
“Well, I am here, ready and willing,” Beryl saluted him.  “Just tell me what I have to do.”
“My dad has gone missing.”
“Oh, you mean that cutie of a mayor?” Beryl grinned.
JoJo grimaced.  “Please, don’t do that.”
“I didn’t do anything!” She protested.
“You were thinking something.”
“Are you implying that I have a dirty mind?”
“Ugh, never mind.  Can you help me find him?  We’ve been trying to call the police but someone has tampered with the phone lines.  We can’t get a single call out!”
“Okay, I’ll check that first,” Beryl did a random handstand.  “Anything else you need?”
“Keep an eye on my mother.  Her ex boyfriend is in town.”
“The Grinch?”
JoJo blinked.  “How did you---?”
“JoJo, I’m a P.I. People hire me to know everything.”
“Good point.”
Boys and girls, I would like to introduce to my OC Who, Beryl.

Now before anyone asks, she will not fall in love with JoJo. She does have a crush on Ned but she likes to mess with him and she'll be falling in love with someone else later on. Okay, she might. I'm still working on that.

Guess is a little creepy but she's very loving. I wish someone would love me that much....if I'm not already married that is.
